RON THROWS A BIRTHDAY DINNER

Last night Ron gave a birthday dinner for his golf buddy, John. John requested this a couple of weeks ago. Ron had made spaghetti for John's birthday last year when I was up north awaiting the birth of the babies. Anyway we also invited Mike and Ariel. At the same time we celebrated Mardi Gras. Fancy drinks, appetizers and Ron's version of his mom's recipes made a delightful evening.

KIM AND STEVE AT OUTDOOR RESORTS

Saturday evening Steve brought Kim out to the resort for a visit. We had a lovely dinner on the patio. On Sunday Ron and Steve buried some pipe that was left after the trailer was moved forward. Then, after shrimp tacos at La Palapa, we went out in search of a barbecue. We decided on one and Steve and Ron set it up. Then Kim made pollo asada for dinner which we ate while watching the academy awards. It was delicious and so very sweet of her. This morning we had breakfast at the resort cafe and then Steve and Kim returned home. It was such a nice visit.

CHAMBERS VISIT

The last four days Sue and Dick were visiting with us in Palm Springs. I was really negligent in taking photos. We had some wonderful times just sitting in the sun. We also went to the Cochella Preserve and hiked around the huge Palm tree groves. We had shrimp tacos, dinners here and even went to Billy Reed's and the street fair. On our last morning was today and we walked to Starbuck's. It was great to have such special friends come and stay with us.

VALENTINE'S DAY 2008

Today was a very nice Valentine's Day. Patty, Ron and I walked to Starbuck's for coffee this morning. This afternoon Ron went with a friend to hit a bucket of balls.
Patty and I went to La Palapa for shrimp tacos. Then we picked Ron up and we all headed to downtown La Quinta. We went to the Hog's Breath there for cocktails. The Hog's Breath is owned by Clint Eastwood. We sat on the outside second story balcony.
This evening Ron put a tri tip on the barbecue. He also fixed delicious cocktails with special mix and champagne. We visited until nearly 11:00. It was a lovely day.

LUNCHEON OUT WITH FAMILY

On Thursday Ron and I had lunch with Mother, Aunt Anna, Uncle Bob and Aunt Cosie at Hometown Buffet in Burbank. It was wonderful to see them and enjoy a long conversation about family. What a treat!
