JULY 4TH 2008

Here they are folks-----Our 4th of July in Ashland.

Rick, May and I took Nico to the hometown parade a little late so he wouldn't become over stimulated for a long period of time. After all parades are loud and confusing with thousands of people making noise everywhere. Nico was a bit overwhelmed by it all. He just loves people, but had trouble focusing on so many faces around him. He didn't cry, which he seldom does, but he sort of zoned out. He just kept looking at the ground and ignoring everyone. That is not typical "Nico" behavior.

We met Mother and Ron at the park after and did some people watching. Ashland is a great people watching place, so much variety. From there we came home and had a picnic. We lounged around the backyard. Nico tried out the new swing we bought. Rick and May also helped Nico practice standing up. Ron and Mother relaxed under the trees. All was great. In the evening we babysat Nico while Rick and May went to a rehearsal for a wedding they are attending tomorrow.

What great times and what great family photos! Rick, May and Nico make such a beautiful family! I just can't wait to see them all. You must show Nico my picture so he can get use to me and will be ready for Aunt Patty to hold him.

Look at Nico standing!!! Oh my....kids get big too fast!!! That parade looks like a ton of fun! I love to people watch, too. I can imagine Ashland would be a great place to do that.
