PORTLAND DAY TWO
Another wonderful day! Amy started our day out with bran muffins and smoothies. Then when she and Ronnie went to work we took a walk with Rick and May to Starbucks. We left them around noon and drove along the Columbia River to Astoria.
In Astoria we are staying at The Cannery Pier Hotel. A friend of ours has invested in it and suggested we stay here. It is fabulous. Our room is on the pier, 600 feet out on the Columbia River. Our balcony is a "stones throw" from many huge ships as they come down the river. What a treat! Our room has a fireplace, a sofa, a clawfoot tub, a lounge couch for reading and many more amenities.
Around 6:00pm they served lox on Scandanavian rye bread in the lobby. We went to dinner and had the best clam chowder ever. And now I am sending this out to all of you who might care.
