LAST DAY IN PORTLAND (FOR NOW)

Another lovely day. Woke up with Amy and the babies at 5:ooam. At 9:00 the Doula came and I ran to the store and then over to Rick and May's to visit with Nico (and Rick and May, of course). May made delicious eggs for all of us. I was able to feed Nico some rice cereal. Then Rick had a meeting for work and May and I took a nice walk.

In the afternoon I took care of Alice and Anthony for a short while and Ron took Amy to look at a house that he liked. They sometimes talk about getting a bigger place. You can imagine how much I enjoy both families living so close that I can run back and forth. Oh well, we'll see.

Then this evening we all went to The Laurelhurst for dinner. What a thrill to be out with my kids and their kids! Nico had his first vegetables, sweet potatoes and he loved them. That would be the first picture. The restaurant is not only "kid friendly"but there were kids everywhere. It didn't seem that people without kids even dine there.

Now tomorrow Ron and Amy plan to drive me home to Ashland in their new car, a Toyota Highlander. They will spend the weekend with us.

Included are a couple of pics of the little ones, again. Alice and Anthony are wearing the sweet hats that their Mommy knitted for them.

The hats are so great! I love family oriented dining (when I have the kids with me). How exciting for you to know that you will be back soon (and for good). I'm sure you miss the babies just thinking of leaving...

Why is it I can't read your blogs these days without getting emotional! I am so happy for you Nana as I am for your whole family! I know how much sorrow Mom felt when your grandkids were slow in coming! I can feel her joy now!
